1. The well known Europian group THE KELLY FAMILY have successful
concert last saturday in Jurmala/ near capitalcity Riga. The
were ~ 5000 popmusic funs here, and concert was selled out.
Later the evening had press conference where groups members
said thats Riga and Latvia has "nice and harmony" town and land.
Group continue Europian tour in Russia, in various towns.
2. The appearance of FOOL's GARDEN in Latvia follows in mid may,
when popular comercradiostation "Radio SWH" celebrates own 5th
anniversary.
3. The 1st may follows also a great date for childrens popmusic
traditional festival "Calis/ Chicken", where participate childrens
begins to start singing in 2 (!) years. But the final/ Latvia
"Calis" concert follows at the end of may.
4. The schlager/ pop group MAZA GILDE finished recording the currant
album.
5. The working in same time to new albums started two anothers
schlager/pop groups KANTORIS 04 and VALDEMARS.

Scandinavian Indie presents the COO contest! Pretty cool huh? Yeah,
so here's what you need to know and what to do.

This is a creative contest for your soul. No, you really don't have to
answer any questions or roam about on the net for the answer to "What
did Scully have on the back of her coat in the episode where Joe 'the
farmer' found an innocent looking kid in his field, but it turned out
to be an (wait for it...) ALIEN FROM ANOTHER PLANET!!!!! AAAAAAAHHH!!"
Nope. Nothing like that.
You may need to check out some graphics and listen to some music on
the web though - so here's the one link you need:

This is the band's own homepage, which means one of the members of
the band has designed and put it up (ie. runs it).
What you must do!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What we want you to do is to __design a new and lasting Coo logo__!
That's right! Coo needs a new and cool logo which they want to be able
to use on their record covers, t-shirts, stickers, drumsticks and
whatnot. And they want You to design it!
So grab a pencil and paper, your canvas and brushes, favourite painting
or graphics program, and start your braincells! When you're finished,
send your masterpiece to us (preferably by e-mail, but if you need to
send it in a different format - on a paper, on a diskette etc. let us
know (send e-mail to: chief@lysator.liu.se) and we'll work it out
somehow).
Sending by e-mail: You should send your logo to: chief@lysator.liu.se,
who will then pass all the logos on to the band, who in turn will decide
who's going to be the winner, and who will be second and third. The
format you send your logo in matters, but we hope we'll be able to handle
most graphic formats - or we will get back to you. Please let us know if
you allow us to display your logo on the results page on the Scandinavian
Indie website after the contest is over as well. And please remember to
include your postal (snail mail) address, or we won't know where to send
your prizes!

There are two stores selling second hand stuff (both CDs and vinyl) at the
northern side of Kongens Nytorv. One of them is located at Store Kongens
Gade and the other one is on the street to the left (Gothersgade?), if you
are entering Store Kongens Gade from the square. They are probably not the
best stores in town, but they are the only decent ones I know of. It would
be great if some Danish people could recommend any other stores, as I am
really interested too!

Second hand records are generally much more expensive in Copenhagen than
in Sweden. It's a good deal to go over there and sell records, but
buying is not.

1. The great festival in Latvia's local town Madona follows 17 and 18
july: "The Bitter and Sweet/ Sinepes un Medus". Its 8th year events
there and have a great popularity. This year will participate groups
from Denmark, Sweden, Germany and, of course, from Latvia. News follows.
2. The well known "hard/ heavy's" LIVI next Latvians tour make up/ start
at the end of may. Now their are guests in Denmarks music clubs.
3. The 30th(!!) albums in these days presents (with small concerts)
latvians "beer" rockenroll artist Aldis Dregeris. And the Latvian
tour with 65(!) concerts follows this summer. The next album follows
in this october already.
4. Its possible thats DEPECHE MODE guest in Riga/ Latvia's capital town
in september!!!! Now music label "Busim Pazistami" agree the last
details of coming up concert.
5. And the festival "Rock Against Army" (against Russia's army radio
locator in Latvia) follows in 3 may in small local town Skrunda.
There concertshows performs HUSKVARN, LABVELIGAIS TIPS, BET BET,
and many others!

A friend finally relented and gave me his copy of "Places" last
year (it only took me three years of begging), BUT does any

expect that anyone is prepared to give up one of the original
50 copies. Can anyone help? Any suggestions or clues would be
greatly appreciated....

what possible buy only in Moscow - the Russia's capital city.
3. The most brutal music programm in Latvian's history "Great Meat Hooks
Night" goes "on air" today 10pm local Latvia time in local town Cesis's
radiostation "Radio 3". There follows latest worlds "nuclear/ war/
dragon/sympho blackmetal" music "items".
4. The same time / 24 april 10pm/ the same place / Cesis/ local "punk,
hcore" festival follows, includes groups DEMENTOR PREACOX and some
others.
5. But the major featival "Liepajas dzintars/ Liepay'as amber" starts
in 14th august in west Latvia's town Liepaja. News follows.

At least this is probably very urgent for those in, or around, Vaxjo and
Malmo who are interested in watching KOMEDA play live:
KOMEDA were supposed to play in Vaxjo tonight and in Malmo tomorrow.
Instead, they will play at KB in Malmo _tonight_ . The Vaxjo gig is
_cancelled_.
I received this info from NONS and there was no reason given why this has
happened, just a statement that neither KOMEDA nor NONS or Luger (the
booking agency) were to blame for it.
Anyway, KOMEDA live is definitely recommended for those who have the
possibility to see them. Their gig in Linkoping last night was _great_ .
Mostly stuff from the new album but also a few songs from "The genius
of..." (some Spendrups beer "commercial", for example ;) ).

That's right. Thanks!
(Needless to say, the amplifier didn't want to record anything last
night so I didn't manage to tape the Motorpsycho show :-( )
Komeda at Herrgar'n was fantastic tho' - damn that "Simple Formality" is
the best Komeda song ever! IMO. And they now have enough great songs
to fill a whole concert with the hits alone. Not many bands can.
Oh, and they said Simple Formality will be the next single - mmmm.

Cool - you people down there *must* go and see them. Both.
But this means the Sobsister date which was previously 7/5
has been moved to 6/5 - they are not playing there both
nights are they?
