The Work

This is Domenico Gabrielli's Opus 1, a collection of twelve balletti with an extra dance movement for each number. They are written for two violins and basso continuo, but the original reads "à Violino e Violone, con il secondo Violino à beneplacito", which means that the second violin could be omitted.

This Edition

I have always tried to be as close to the original as possible. Editorial changes have been put above the staffs, or within parenthesis. Slashed figures in the continuo have been replaced with their flat/natural or sharp equivalents. All accidentals have been converted to modern standard.
