The Sad Story about the Non-product RayTracker

I created it as a personal hacking project, and when it was "finished enough" to be useful, I tried to interest the company that I worked for then (emt) to sell it. They said they would, but didn't think this "rendering bit" was going to be any market. Consequently, the advertising e.t.c. was exactly Zero. It was entered into the pricelist, period.

Of course eventually the rendering market turned out pretty nice (for those who did get their products advertised, i.e. not me), but pretty soon Autodesk (the makers of AutoCAD) made their own rendering program, 3D-studio, and eventually AutoVision (rendering inside AutoCAD). I didn't have resources to compete with large corporations such as Autodesk, so my chance was shot.

I would have had some chance if my company have had some foresight...

Huh? What, me bitter? Not! :-)
