- Total number of wizard characters:
20
- Average number of wizards online:
2-6
- Total Number of Quests Available:
~20
- General Information about Quests:
Specific quests will vary according to the guild joined. For more
information seek out members of the guild and ask them about the quests.
- Number of Quests Required for Levels:
Dependant on guild. Generaly 1 per 3 levels.
- Number of Quests Required for Wizardhood:
varies by guild, 3-6/player
- Minimum Experience Required for Wizardhood:
Experience spent to raise stats/levels/etc. No reasonable comparison
with standard LPmud experience systems.
- Other (if any) Requirements for Wizardhood:
Petition process for wizship. Standard path is to Noble, not to become
a wizard. Wizship reserved for those who wish to be a wizard, not who
have simply solved the game.
- Player Advancement beyond/instead of Wizardhood:
Noble option. Rather than becoming a wizard, player will gain control
of a territory, armies, etc. Player will then attempt to spread his/her
domain, make alliances, adventure, etc. This is basicly a second game
beyond the first. At this point it has not been opened to players but
is now very close to being so.
- Number/type of available genders:
male/female
- Number/type of available classes/guilds:
Current 11 available classes. Fighter, mage, priest, rogue, monk are
the known guilds, while many hidden guilds exist. Hidden guilds have
stricter requirements for advancement... for example the bards guild
requires the player actually compose and perform songs for the mud at
large to listen to.
- Number/type of available skills:
15 basic spell/skill categories. Several of these have many
different sub-spells, as many as 11 per category.
- Number/type of available races:
10 standard (human, elf, dwarf, halfling, imp, giant, spirit, werefolk,
centaur, gnome). It is possible to play a non-standard race, but
prohibitively difficult.
- Genre/Mood/Theme:
Pure fantasy... no cross thematic stuff.
- Primary Orientation:
Valhalla strives to fulfill all of these goals. It is probably
strongest in the Combat and Quest aspects, with great attention to
depth, detail, and complexity.
- Policy on Player Killing:
Player Killing with good justification only. Extremely rare.
- Policy on Individual Privacy:
Heavily enforced. Your private business is your own.
- Policy on Multiple Characters:
Acceptable. No more than one char/person _on_ at a time, but you
may have as many as you wish.
- Policy on Player/Wizard Interactions:
No Wizard interaction with players.
- Policy on Wizard Coding/Approval of areas, objects, etc:
Low-level wizard areas must be approved before installation. Mid
level wizard areas must be at least double-checked by another mid-level
wizard before installation. All wizard areas are expected to maintain
very high quality standards.
- Policy on Individual Castles:
Each castle should become a part of the overall environment. A castle
is not so much a particular area unto itself, rather it is simply
the realm over which that wizard has direct control.
- Policy on Coding Style:
Depth, detail, complexity. If you can't touch, look at, move, and
generally mess with every item described in the room then log a bug.
Detail makes playing more fun, and we wish to be extremely complete
in doing so.
- Policy on Making Wizard:
Only earned wizards will be accepted.
- Policy on General Rules:
Rules are specificly listed under 'help rules' and 'help etiquette'.
Basicly they consist of 'be courteous and you will be fine'.
- Policy on Disciplinary Actions:
Administrator decision. Based on seriousness of offense... ranging
from simple warning to permenant character removal.
- Policy on Retension/Reimbursment:
Items are not saved from session to session. In the event of a crash
players are automatically compensated (with money) for items carried.
- Policy on "Wimpy":
Wimpy available, random direction only.
