From archive (archive) Subject: Author Lists: Dean R. Koontz From: JWenn.ESAE@XEROX.COM Date: 12 Jan 89 14:27:07 GMT Dean Koontz actually wrote a fair amount of SF from 1968 to 1975 under his own name. Since that time (and under a variety of aliases), he's written mostly Horror. Personally, I don't like horror; but I know that many people here do enjoy it. (Exactly how the circles of Horror, SF and Fantasy intersect in a Venn diagram, and how to thell them apart is a complex topic in itslf). Since horror isn't my thing, be warned that this list may be incomplete, expecially for recent years or for unkown pseudonyms. Critical analysis of his writing. Compare and contrast Koontz with King. And a incomplete chronology of his work. Up and Coming Work: Books: Mr. Murder G.P. Putnam's Sons 1993(?) Written as himself. SEE ABOVE: Stolen Thunder under the David Axton name. It may also be a new book by him, though it is already released. Movies: Darkfall - Was planned around the time of The Face of Fear. I haven't heard anything since. The Eyes of Darkness - Was planned around the time of The Face of Fear. I haven't heard anything since. Midnight - Last heard it was being filmed by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Pit and the Pendulum). Possibly stalled in production. From what I heard, it doesn't follow the book that much. That about does it. Reminder: Please send additions/corrections to me at hopkins@agora.rain.com. Also, if you can help me out on a few of my missing books, or just want to chat about Koontz, write to the same address.
