HERBS: You can eat one herb per 60s. Each poison will act as a separate entity, doing its work without regards to other poisons (having its own timespan and effects). Same with skill enhancers, except any enhancer taking you over max will only take you to max, and act as if it just gave you as much as needed to bring you to max (so if en earlier enhancer ends, you will lose its full effect). Very possible that herblore affects how efficient herbs are. Not tested, but Handasse gave closer to +0.2 int with 0 in herblore skill. Herb shops remember and keep the same stock as they had before reboot. For each room there is a list of the herbs that could pop up here and a number X specifying the variation. When herbs spawn, X herbs are chosen randomly between the possible ones. When searching in the room for herbs, a random one of these X herbs is found. When searching in the room for a specific herb, you will find it if it's among those X herbs and your herbalism skill is high enough for you to be able to identify the herb (there is always a slight chance that you will fail). Once you have picked quantity Y nr of herbs, no more herbs can be found here. If searching for any herb: * nothing special. -> No herbs can be found here. * find no herbs. -> All herbs have been picked, or you just got unlucky. If searching for a specific herb: * nothing special. -> is not one of the X herbs available. * find no herbs. -> is one of the X herbs, but your herbalism is too low, or the room has already been emptied of herbs. Note: With skill 0- ?, you can find 2 herbs per room, though mostly one With skill ?-20, you can find 2 herbs per room. With skill 50-75, you can find 3 herbs per room. Rarity (test data near bottom of file): * Rare herbs do NOT appear more seldom in the list of available herbs. (or if they do, the effect is not noticeable) * When just searching for "herbs", the chance of finding a rare, available herb is the same as the chance of finding a common one. * The only thing rarity seems to do, is to make it harder to search for a few, select herbs, ie, a few herbs that are not too hard to recognize have such high rarity that you can't find them when searching for them, even if your skill is high enough to recognize them. This failure (recognizable but too high rarity) seem to reduce one herb from the room. So if you fail twice(thrice) like this, no herbs will be found here. Failure due to too high recognizability does NOT affect the number of herbs available. Failure due to bad luck does NOT affect the number of herbs available. Toluca chirps: Ah! I guess you spent some time looking for this one! Poison: Works for a certain time. Normally 500 seconds. Quitting does not remove it. Mild poison should be safe for all but the smallest characters. Medium poison can bring a sober person with firm con down a couple of steps. Strong poison can kill a fully healed, sober person with healthy con in a couple of minutes, and there are even nastier ones. Poison can make you lose one or more of: Hp/M/Mv. The messages you get are: /find You have been poisoned! /find You feel less healthy. /find You feel so much less healthy, you wish you were dead. /find You feel mental fatigue. /find You feel so much mental fatigue, you wish you were dead. /find You feel more tired. /find You feel much more tired. /find You feel so much more tired, you wish you were dead. /find You feel much better. ...plus forced emotes: cough, shiver, moan, groan, choke & puke The messages are coming up in random intervals. When messages come up, you get one or more messages at the same time, but no more than one of each kind. The "...you wish you were dead." messages means you've hit zero hp/mana/moves. You lose hp/m/mv only when you get a message saying so, but the amount you lose is a bit random. Stronger poisons do tend to give more messages, but whether the average-loss per message differs between different poisons, I don't know. I have noted numbers in paranthesis, corresponding to the number of messages received while under the effect of the poison. Hopefully this will be a useful way of noting the danger level of each poison. "You feel much more tired." is rare, and means the poison drains a lot of movement points. I don't know if this "much more tired" is when you lose more than a set number of movement points, or if it's when you lose more than a certain percentage of your max-moves. Monkshood only gives "You feel much more tired." messages. Morning glory, Poison ivy, Smooth camas, Surf grass and Myrtleberry have given a few "much more tired" and the rest "more tired". Poison often lowers con. Poison can lower strength. At least Pepper does this (lowering it more and more during the time off the effect). These stat-losses can fluctuate and may last a lot longer than the actual poison. Sting: If you get this herb without wearing gloves, you will get some stings and welts on your hands. The first message is always: "Your right hand begins to sting intensely.", which appears after 2 seconds. Then comes, randomly, at random intervals of 14s-191s: Intense stinging sensations spread all over your right hand. Ouch! The red welts continue to sting! Scratching only seems to spread the welts on your right hand. Scratching your right hand only makes the red welts worse! The raised red welts on your right hand drive you crazy. The sting of the welts is almost unbearable. The stinging sensation seems to be spreading! And when it ends, you get the message: "You don't notice that stinging sensation on your right hand any longer." Unknown if it does anything more than just giving annoying messages. Scratch: If you get this herb without wearing any armour, you will get an itch on your body. No starting message will appear to warn you that you got the Scratch. The first scratch message comes one minute after picking up the herb. The messages come in intervals of 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2 minutes (random): You scratch your head. You scratch your nose. Itch: If you get this herb without wearing gloves, you will get an itch on your hand. The first message is always: "Your right hand begins to itch.", which appears after 2 seconds. Plague: Spreads by being close to someone else having it. The first message is always: "You are starting to feel sick." Plague will bring a drunk person with con hearty(very close) down, slowly. Whether it will kill before it goes away is unknown. Plague makes you lose Hp/M/Mv. every 37-98 seconds you drop in one or more, normally all three, things. Average is a drop in all three things every 80 seconds. ...plus forced emotes: shiver, choke & some kind of vomit. It lasts at least 15 minutes, probably longer. Eating Wilcol can cure it. Midge sting: Each sting lasts 10 minutes and acts as a separate entity. Doesn't seem to do anything - neither damage nor fatigue. Eating savory doesn't seem to help. Starts with: The buzzing noise comes closer and you feel an itch in your and you think you have been stung by a . Ends with: You don't notice that itchy feeling on your any longer. During the poison, you get approximately one message per 30 seconds. The messages are also random: AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Itchy! Itchy! ITCHY!!!
