Welcome Pinnacle usersThis page isn't very advanced yet.... but at least you can download my Pinnacle DV fixer here!
What is it?Users of the Pinnacle DV 500 editing board will find that their DV AVI's wont play in various systems. This is NOT due to the Pinnacle DV format being proprietary in some way, au contraire, it is just incorrectly labelled!. Inside the AVI files is a four character code, a "FOURCC" which for a DV video file is "dvsd"... only Pinnacle puts "DVSD" (note uppercase) which is the OLD standard (yes, Microsft changed their minds mid game) causes e.g. Microsofts DV player from Win98SE not to play the file!!Latest news 2001-03-12: Pinnacle is working on a fix!! So hopefully this page is soon made obsolete! How to fix it?Awaiting a fix from Pinnacle, you may download and save this file to your local harddisk: ZapsPinnacleDvFixer.exe and run it. The program should be self-explanatory. There is no install or anything... or uninstall (dont want it, just delete it!). Just run the .exe and it should work.
Whad does this software cost?A big fat nothing. But I would appreciate if you go to this page once in a while and listen to my music and perhaps buy a CD? Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top? Have fun
