Conclusion

The framework presented in this chapter is a general one. The framework is useful in that it distinguishes between various aspects and uses of the role concept. The framework provides an abstraction whereby it is possible to model an organization through the roles that can be identified within in it, and the interrelationships these roles have. After this model is created, it can be put to different uses, such as access control.
