In this chapter we have shown how an NFS server can be modified
to enforce role-based access control. We have demonstrated the
feasibility of our main idea. However, performance needs to be
improved. Nevertheless, we believe the enhanced server can be used to
bring RBAC to a large number of existing systems and
applications, without the need for modification of existing software.
