    Where can I get some of the Telescopes Ep's and Albums?  The
Telescopes are pretty new to me, but I've heard a few of their Ep's and
I really really like what I hear.Anyone have some Telescopes releases
that they want to pass on?  or just know of a place online to get them?


    Hey, I think that it would be great to look into recording the
upcoming Mojave 3 show. Then the same could be done with this recording
as with the Oslo-Slowdive recording.. Anyone?

    I'm not saying it was a legitimate reason.  But on the other hand,
to take your analogy,  what about a taxi driver?   Is he not making those

ride with them pay his car payments?

believe it or not,  I've had troubles finding people who would do this.  
Also, i'm hesitant to post to a list and ask for someone to tape bsides
for me.
There's always someone who'll say "why don't you buy them yourself."
which is a good point.  but, when you live where i live, and distrust
websites,
it is a bit hard to find anything that i like.

This I like.  
On the James list, there's someone who always tries to make money off
everything,
even stuff that he traded for. He then copies of stuff he trades for at
exorbitant
prices to the other listees.
Anyway, people always offer AT COST the exact videos he offers.

Actually, i think i shall.   i do have a few problems with it 
in that Nick and Christian wouldn't get any of it, and i don't know who

yes, i know, i was lamenting the fact.


Recently, i visited an import CD website for the 1st time.   I'm still
quite
distrusting of the websites, but still....  they all seem to have every
CD 
that i've ever wanted.  I think i'm going to get a credit card just for
these sites
(although it's hard to get a credit card when you're 16).   
It's worth a try though

time,  no one ever does factor time and effort into the equations of how

to a friend for *free*?  


Minor point:  I didn't know Rachel had explicitly stated that she was
against the project.

and by the way, Aaron, i think you've changed my mind.  I never even
thought of buying
the bsides compilation offered by that guy on Texture, especially after
Merck's comments.

All of these analogies are horrible. Everyone in the world does not go into
the world with the same thoughts and desires for a purchase. When I bought
my cd recorder I specifically thought I would pay for it by selling cdr
copies of hard to find and boot material. So yes I was trying to get someone
to pay my car payments. Right or wrong of course is another issue
altogether.

WRONG, I tried this a year ago. Got lots of 'why don't you buy the singles
yourself'. Many people on this list are completely selfish assholes. Not to
say I've made a billion recordings for free either. I have made cdrs of the
stuff for a few people without charging (whenever I had a LOT or free time).

Oh yeah, well use me as a test case. I don't sell, just trade. As you can
see from this and former posts I'm a Slowdive fan so I would love to hear
this stuff.

I'm not going to pay double for a product. That's an incredibly obnoxious
demand. As I stated before there are folk in the industry (to include
Slowdive) who have already made their bones off of this material. Honestly,
I doubt many people are going to find all of these products so
Slowdive/Creation aren't getting any money anyway (if you can't find the
product no one is going to profit).

Great neither does any video tape or television show you have copied, tape
you have copied book you have photocopied ect...
Yeah, those things are looked upon differently then those that sell them but
it seems to have less to do in your mind with the recordings than the
medium. I don't know why cds are raising the bootleg flags in so many minds.
It's like your saying yeah go ahead and get your boots but it can only be
shitty quality.

Illegal yes (so is speeding or dropping trash) but morally irresonsible I
don't think so. Creation and Slowdive are aware of the avenues of profit for
their material. Again take a lesson from the Cure and put a website and sell
thier rare material for outrageous prices to the real fans and this shit
would stop. Despite the many things I've read about the marketing strategy
of Blue Day, I'm still convinced it was to give a taste of what the fan
could have and have them purchase the singles to get the rest. Isn't this
the whole point ot singles and bsides? I don't believe for a second it had
to do with keeping costs down. Blue Day from the beginning was charged as a
(whole) cd set. The Souvlaki with 'bonus' Blue day was even more obnoxiously
charged.

I've thought about it and I dont agree. Thank you Mr Stack for allowing me

each of the following online vendors has Anakin.  I ranked them in order of
cost (with CDnow being by far the most expensive).  I got mine from German
Music Express (I have no idea why it is called that), and it took about 11
days from the day I ordered until it arrived in my mail (not bad
considering it came from the Netherlands to the US).  I have used AB-CD in
the past, and they are a good company.  10 to 1 that if you order it from
CDnow, it will still come from AB-CD.  Most of the time, when I order an
import from CDnow, it comes shipped from AB-CD.  Also, I heard a Canadian
release is slated for March.  Good luck.

Hmm, I'd pay anything to get to see Bardo Pond live. I actually gave them
a 5 (out of 5) review for Lapsed a while back (though the chief editor
of the mag decided to take half a point away - don't ask me why). Any
pages dedicated to the Terrastock festival with the complete line up?
(yeah I want to feal miserable... ;))
